Like a breath of fresh air, Philippe Dubuc‘s Spring 2012 collection will introduce breathable fabrics, muted colours, and, of course, some gorgeous black knits. Available at Quai 417 and the DUBUC flagship on rue St-Denis, we will take this collection as proof that someday soon, Spring will indeed come.

Starting out cool: David wears black leather and jersey (back) vest by DUBUC.

$porty: Sleeveless tank, white shirt by DUBUC (c) Yann Ostiguy
White shirt, cotton tank, sweat-shorts, all by DUBUC. Bracelet from REBORN (231 Saint-Paul Street West 514-499-8549)

The DUBUC look
Shirt, vest, pant, belt, all in black, a signature colour of Philippe DUBUC’s collections, as it was for our “Breaking Through” designers last fall (Taddeo, Mercure, and Hourani). The knit tank edged in leather at the sleeve should be a sought-after item in this urban-warrior-inflected Spring collection.

Something for evening.... (c) Yann Ostiguy
Jacket, collared shirt, black pant: DUBUC SS 2012, Shoes: Dolce Gabbanna from Holt Renfrew. Jewellery: REBORN
The evening look also summed up the style: something of tropical pre-revolution Indochina meets Montréal 2012. Casual, textural, and with a restrained palette, we think you’ll agree that we’re already eager for Spring!
See the January 2012 issue for the full spread. In stands Dec. 23-Jan 27.
