Porn actor sought in connection to severed foot, murder

It all started with news of a severed foot arriving by mail at Conservative Party headquarters in Ottawa. Within hours, police in Montréal announced they were seeking out porn actor and model Luka Magnotta in connection to the foot and a headless, limbless torso found near a Snowdon apartment.

A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for Luka Rocco Magnotta, who also goes by the aliases Eric Clinton, Kirk Newman, or Vladimir Romanov. In one of the most bizarre stories to emerge from Montréal in a year of bizarre stories, the developments started on Tuesday with the discovery of a headless, limbless torso in a suitcase in a heap of garbage outside the presumed victim’s apartment in the Snowdon neighbourhood. Almost simultaneously, police in Ottawa had been called to the headquarters of the Conservative Party of Canada about a suspicious package that turned out to contain a severed human foot. A second parcel containing a hand, and reportedly addressed to the office of the federal Liberal Party was later found by Canada Post in Ottawa. The body parts all point to the apartment in Montréal where it is believed Luka Magnotta may have killed and dismembered the tenant.

“There is no country in the world that is not talking about him,” the SPVM’s Ian Lafrenière told the CBC. “There’s a lot of pressure on him, so we believe that it’s going to be hard for him.” According to the CBC, the SPVM said they have evidence that shows Magnotta left North America, “but couldn’t reveal what that evidence was or say definitively that he had not returned.”

“If you look on different websites, you see the appearance of that person could change dramatically – from a male to a female, wearing… and things like that – so that’s the reason we’ve put a lot of effort trying to locate this suspect,” Lafrenière said. The SPVM believe the victim was reported missing in Montreal several days earlier, according to the CBC and Huffington Post.

Recalling certain certain recent stories of violent crime and ex-porn-stars, Magnotta’s extensive web presence has led to the release of numerous photos and articles the world over. With an almost boundless accumulation of the bizarre, the bisexual Magnotta has been romantically linked to notorious schoolgirl serial killer Karla Homolka, rumors he denied repeatedly, and which Police also say are groundless. In 2005, Magnotta had appeared in Toronto GLBT monthly Fab as the “fab boy.” In the interview, Magnotta, who went simply by the name Jimmy, said he was 22 years old at the time, that he was born in Russia, and hoped to someday become a police officer. “I don’t want to do traffic tickets. I am thinking vice of homicide,” the 5’10”, 135lb porn actor told Fab. Luka Rocco Magotta is 29 years old, with black hair, blue eyes, and slight build. He is originally from Scarborough, Ontario.

Anyone with knowledge or information about Magnotta’s whereabouts is urged to call 911 immediately and cite file number CM-12-011
