Jealous Lovers + DJ Vosper @ Glitterbomb
Glitterbomb is the newest edition to the interconnected family of homosexualist parties happening in spaces all over the city. Curator Ali El-Darsa is introducing a “nicer” aesthetic for his dance-and-video events, continuing this Friday, September 21, at the tucked-away Underworld loft.
- Many Shades of Misstress Barbara
- “The Gay Pimp” has some words & a new vid for all that Texting on the Dance Floor
- In her Birthday Suit: The Salivation Army turns Twenty-Hot Years Old
Curator Ali El-Darsa’s new Glitterbomb night at Cabaret Underworld bills itself as a “collective monthly happening that celebrates art and music… where you can protest everything you love to hate or hate to love.” We didn’t see much to protest about with these smiling beardos and happy homos at their sweaty summer event.
As evidenced by Benjamin Lussier and El-Darsa’s promo video for the upcoming September 21st event (featuring former Être coverboy Ishmail Kargbo), it would seem that smiles are the new model-frowns, and flower garlands are the new trucker hat:
