Demons have mercy! If you’re still recovering from last weekend, know that Halloween is not over: Dominic Fournier, the iconic bearded boy-tender of Katacombes is letting all the gay ghouls, lesbian lycanthropes, queer demons and trans-pires take over the famed Station C Nightlight Apollon for Oct 31, will all proceeds going to AIDS Community Care Montréal.

2B grabbed Dominic Fournier, the beloved bartender of Katacombes for a quick chat about his one-of-kind Halloween haunted take-over planned for this Wed. Oct 31. The spooktacular line-up of DJs and performers will invade both Apollon and the underground venue of Dom and co-host Tom McGraw’s Disco Dungeon for a night of gayhem, guts and glory with gayvorites DJ B’UGO, Thomas Promise, DL Jones, GayBash, POMPe and Glam Gam Productions to benefit AIDS Community Care Montreal, a cause that is dear to Fournier’s heart.

2B: It’s been a while since we’ve seen a big club night to benefit an AIDS organization in the Village. What inspired that?

Dominic Fournier: I think that that itself inspired the idea. I really wanted to do something to help and this was the perfect opportunity. Being recently diagnosed with HIV, this hits close to home .

2B: Besides your irresistible hotness and the promotional savoir-faire of the Dom Bearded Boy/Tom McGraw duo, how did you get so many great names and players involved in this night?

DF: I think that the people involved just really appreciate what this is for, and we’re all great friends outside of the promo world so helping each other out and having fun while we do it just seemed natural . We definitely really appreciate the involvement of everyone who helped this be what it is !

2B: Who will be your bar-boys and girls for the night? Anyone special?

DF: The barboys/ bargirls will be a mix of familiar faces from our weekly Disco Dungeon on Wednesdays and some of the “friends of the dungeon” we all know and love, like KiKi and SexNobe. I will not be behind the bar on Halloween since it will be my birthday. Daddy’s takin’ the night off!

2B: Going out in the Village is the kind of thing that hipsters in Mile End like to mock (but secretly attend often anyway). How do you think a Village club can get that cross-over appeal back?

DF: I think it really comes down to quality and quantity. I think you need to offer some insanely good music, coupled with some ridiculous prices, we wanted to offer something affordable for the new generation of clubbers and this mixture seems to have hit the soft spot.

2B: Will there be any performances on the 31st? And more importantly, WILL YOU GET NAKED?

DF: We will have some performances, yes, but they will all be unveiled on the night of! We want some mystery… I can say that we have some of GLAM GAM’s performers on board though… As for me getting naked, I’ll try and stay true to my love for birthday suits… within legal boundaries…
