The 22nd edition of Montreal Fashion Week was made more fabulous by the presence of our new fashion bogger Kim Ninkuru. Although, many designers presented us with their most exquisite work, we couldn’t help but notice the lack of menswear. Fortunately, three designers, Dinh Ba, LYN and CIN Tailleurs caught our eye in the men’s department, along with co-ed line UNTTLD. After only six months in business, the orders keep piling in for the Québec online fashion store Against Nudity. Created by entrepreneurs Louis Moreau and Thierry Charlebois, Against Nudity aims to “re-evolutionize” fashion by running a responsible, transparent business, which is not exactly the norm in the garment industry.

As Montréal Fashion Week’s Spring/Summer 2012 shows come to a close, two names stand out in the menswear department, each hailing from a different aesthetic background: Travis Taddeo’s refined, sexy sportswear, and the preppier blazer looks at Dimitri Chris. Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty, the designer’s posthumous retrospective at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York is a reminder that life and death are not polar opposites, but rather inseparable elements in constant flux. Momento Mori…
